Nursery Caregiver: Karen Wickman
It’s never too early to grow close to God! Our nursery is designed to help babies and toddlers experience church as a safe, happy place where they are loved, cared for, and nurtured. We want the littlest members of our church family to feel welcome and excited to be here as they begin to learn about Jesus and his love.
The nursery is well-equipped with age-appropriate furniture, toys, books, and other supplies, and caring staff and volunteers create a warm, loving atmosphere for little ones to enjoy while Mom and Dad attend services. It’s the perfect place to play with other kids, listen to a story, or cuddle in a rocking chair with a grown-up friend. There’s always something fun to do!
Nursery and Other Classes
Our nursery is specially designed to meet the needs of children in their first months and years of life. Babies are welcome in the nursery at any age, as soon as parents feel comfortable leaving them with us. Once children are 24 months old, it’s time to graduate to our Early Preschool class, where new adventures and learning await.
Policies
Sign-In and Registration
Children must be signed in when they arrive in the nursery, and signed out before they leave. We also ask parents to fill out a brief, one-time registration form for each child, to help us keep track of contact info and any special needs. Each child must be picked up by a parent or other authorized caregiver.
Pagers
Sometimes babies just can’t wait for Mom or Dad! We make it easy to know when that happens by giving parents silent pagers to carry during services. If you get a page, please come to the nursery right away.
Nursing Center
Moms are more than welcome to nurse their babies in our nursery. We have a TV with a live feed of services taking place in the sanctuary, so you don’t need to miss out.
Items from Home
Please label any personal belongings with your child’s name. We don’t want to lose track of anything!
Health and Safety
The health, safety, and security of each child are of the utmost importance to us. In the nursery, we are committed to providing and maintaining a clean and healthy environment for babies and toddlers. We regularly clean and disinfect all toys and equipment, and request that parents support us in our efforts by keeping children home if they show symptoms such cough, fever, or runny nose. (Just let us know if your child has allergies or other non-contagious symptoms; we understand that circumstances differ.) Like all children’s programs at TVPC, the nursery adheres to the rigorous guidelines laid out in the church’s Child and Youth Safety Policy.
